Chapter 96. The Boy Chained in the Basement
As for Jiang Sheng.
When he opened his drowsy eyes and woke up, he found himself sitting in a chair crookedly with both of his limbs tied up.
“What the hell is this?” Jiang Sheng complained in his sleepy tone. He tried to move his body but failed.
Jiang Sheng immediately woke up with a start as he looked around him, petrified.
He seemed to be in a basement. The place was too dark for him so see clearly, but he could still sense the moisture around him.
Suddenly, the sound of chains dragging on the ground echoed beside Jiang Sheng. Though it was not loud, it was certainly creepy enough to give Jiang Sheng the jitters.
“Who, who is it?”
Jiang Sheng shouted in the direction where the sound came from, but silence was the only answer he got from there.
The quietness here just made Jiang Sheng feel even more scared that he didn’t even dare to breathe out loudly.
‘Oh, sh*t! Pei Siyan, where the hell are you now? Why am I even here? Hurry up! Come and save me!’
Jiang Sheng felt like crying for what he feared the worst was darkness.
‘No no no, how can I just wait for Pei Siyan to save me? I gotta figure out the situation now on my own first.’
Then Jiang Sheng started to examine every corner of his memories and tried to find out why he was here. The conclusion was that he ate the dessert that the chef gave him first, and then he felt a pain in his nape and eventually passed out.
“Goddamn it, so it was the chef who kidnapped me here.”
‘Ugh! Pei Siyan has already told me to be careful even in the mansion. Why didn’t I keep that in mind and be cautious about others?’
Jiang Sheng was so full of regrets that he would have slapped himself in the face if he could. But he couldn’t, his hands were all tied up.
“Who… are you?” Suddenly, there was a feeble voice coming from the front of him. The voice was so weak as if whoever made that sound could faint by any second.
Of course, the sudden voice scared the sh*t out of Jiang Sheng! He cried loudly, “Ghost!”
“I’m not, *cough..*cough… I’m not a ghost.”
The man coughed severely first. Then, the sound of spitting blood could be heard, and the smell of blood spread all over the room right after that.
“Hey! Are you okay? Did you just spit blood or something?” Jiang Sheng asked worriedly.
“I’m already… already used to this. It’s not a big deal. Don’t shout or make any noises. He could hear you up there.” The man’s voice was hoarse and he sounded like he was in great pain.
“Are you a non-human whom he captured? If…*cough *cough, if you can break loose by yourself, then do it now. Run… run away as far as you can. It’s dangerous here.”
The man said that hurriedly and spat another gulp of blood again. Jiang Sheng could feel his pain even by just listening to his voice.
Though he could not see the man’s face and his position clearly, Jiang Sheng could tell that it was a teenage boy’s voice.
“Then what about you? Are you imprisoned here? Are you really okay? Though I don’t really know about the non-human thing that you just talked about, I’m a vampire and I think I can get you out of here. Do you know the way out?”
“I don’t know who I am…” The man replied weakly, and he sounded bewildered.
‘He doesn’t know who he is? How is that even possible?’
Just as Jiang Sheng was confused, the man added, “I’m here already when I woke up. Every inch of my body is in great pain as if it is being torn apart… I have been eager to die, but the man up there just won’t let me. I begged him to let me be gone, but he never agreed. Now I’m begging you… Would you please help me end my pain? Kill me, please. I’m in great pain and I’m already sick of this life.”
The man suddenly burst into tears. His wailing was just heartbreaking for anyone who could hear him.
“F**k! That man is a bastard. How can he treat you like that? Why is he still holding you back?”
But Jiang Sheng was stunned when he finished saying that.
‘Why wouldn’t he just let him die? Is he trying to torture him? Or, he’s actually in love with him?’
Outside the basement, a man stood in front of the stone gate quietly, but the sadness in his eyes was clear.
“Are… are you okay, my master?” The chef asked in a really low voice.
“I’m fine.” The man’s voice became cold right away, and the sadness he just showed was gone already.
