Chapter 426 Serious Analysis, Lei Jin’s Way Forward!
“Hello?” Cui Enqiao’s voice came from the receiver.
“I’m Lei Jin.” Lei Jin swallowed. In his nervousness, he had completely forgotten the words he had prepared. He looked up at Luo Feng and Ai Tingya for help.
Ai Tingya quickly took out her phone and typed a notification. “Ask about Song Xue’s situation.”
“Is Song Xue alright?” Lei Jin asked.
“She’s still asleep,” Cui Enqiao said. “Why are you calling?”
Lei Jin stared at the opposite side and said cautiously, “Go to a secluded place. I have something to tell you.”
This little trick was naturally obvious to Cui Enqiao. The other party chuckled and waited for her to speak again. There was an echo from the receiver.
“I’m in the corridor. If you have anything to say, say it,” Cui Enqiao said.
“Um… I was just saying… um… can I ask you for a favor?” Lei Jin stammered. “I mean… Can you tell me… Song Xue’s interests, preferences, and so on…”
Lei Jin had to stammer a few times before he could finish his sentence.
Lei Jin might have said something that crossed the line if it weren’t for Ai Tingya’s constant reminder.
The other side was silent for a moment before they suddenly burst into heartless mockery.
“Hahaha, I was wondering why you only asked me now.” Cui Enqiao laughed loudly. “You finally made a smart decision.”
“Haha…” Lei Jin laughed dryly. “You mean you agree?”
“What else? You seem to be a good person. It’s rare for someone to like Little Xue so much. Of course, I’m willing to be a match maker. However, I won’t let you off if you hurt Little Xue!” Cui Enqiao half-threatened him.
Lei Jin admitted that he was not a scumbag who bullied girls. He hurriedly said, “No, I will cherish her and love her…”
“Alright, alright. Tell the mushy words to the person who should hear them. What do you want to know?” Cui Enqiao asked.
Lei Jin chuckled shyly. He couldn’t care less about his embarrassment and asked, “I just want to know what Song Xue likes to eat, her usual interests, and the type of boys she likes…”
Ai Tingya quickly reminded him, “You’re asking too many questions. Take your time.”
Cui Enqiao was straightforward. “Little Xue isn’t very picky about food. She likes to eat ready-made food. She feels that cooking is a waste of time, but she knows how to cook simple dishes. If you want to make her like you, it’s best not to let her cook for you.”
“The type of boy she likes… When she was in high school, she liked a senior. Little Xue liked him very much because that senior was a star student and always brought her food.”
Hearing this, Lei Jin took a deep breath.
He did not expect to be able to come into contact with Song Xue’s past love history so quickly, catching him off guard.
“What happened after that?” Lei Jin asked.
“After that, Senior got into university first and found a girlfriend,” Cui Enqiao said.
“Is that cheating?” Ai Tingya asked in surprise.
Lei Jin also asked curiously, “Did that senior cheat on her?”
“I don’t think so,” Cui Enqiao said. “The two of them were just farming questions together. If we’re talking about liking each other, it’s only Xiao Xue who has a one-sided crush on him. She heard that Senior even gave him her blessings when he had a girlfriend.”
Lei Jin sweated. “In short, she just found a good friend to study with.”
“More or less. Xiao Xue is more practical,” Cui Enqiao said.
Ai Tingya quickly went to the coffee table to get a pen and paper and ran back to record some useful information.
“Then what kind of movie does Song Xue like? Can I ask her out?” Lei Jin was very nervous.
Cui Enqiao thought for a moment and said, “It might not be convenient. She hasn’t finished her thesis recently. She doesn’t even have enough time to sleep.”
Finally, they got to the point. Ai Tingya looked at Lei Jin’s stunned expression. He must have been so worried that he had completely forgotten the purpose of the call.
“Ask her if she can interfere at the right time,” Ai Tingya prompted again.
“Ah, right, there’s one more thing,” Lei Jin hurriedly said. “I just feel that Song Xue’s lifestyle is too harmful to her body. Do I have the right to interfere? For example, letting her sleep on time.”
A sigh came from the other side.
Clearly, Cui Enqiao had also noticed this. “Of course it’s good if someone supervises her. Sometimes, I’m also worried that her body won’t be able to take it.”
“No matter how important a paper is, it’s not as important as health.”
“Don’t worry. If she’s disgusted, I’ll even tell you. We’ll adjust the plan.”
Hearing that Cui Enqiao was on their side, Lei Jin couldn’t stop smiling.
“Is there anything else? I’m hanging up,” Cui Enqiao said. “By the way, President Luo is also by the side, right? Hehe, help me greet him.”
Cui Enqiao still cared about Luo Feng’s face.
If not for Luo Feng, she might have kept him in suspense and told him everything.
“Did you hear that? I can go and care about her!” Lei Jin felt light-headed, as if he had already tasted the sweetness of love. “Where do you think I should start with the first step? Give her a bento?”
Ai Tingya and Luo Feng looked at each other and agreed. “It’s more reliable for you to find a job first.”
From the conversation just now, she understood that Song Xue was a practical girl. There were two reasons why she liked star students. Firstly, the star student was good at studying and could help her. Secondly, the star student brought her food.
Lei Jin definitely wouldn’t be able to help Song Xue in her studies and work. After all, he wasn’t a medical major.
However, if a man only cared about managing and cooking, it would be difficult for girls to feel safe.
“A man still has to have his own career. You have to prioritize work first,” Ai Tingya said, her eyes involuntarily looking at Luo Feng.
Luo Feng’s ability to earn money had helped Ai Tingya a lot. This was also the source of her initial sense of security.
“Speaking of which, what job are you looking for?” Luo Feng asked. “Why don’t you just stay in Shanghai? You can bring Auntie up when it’s stable.”
Speaking of work, Lei Jin was in a dilemma.
“I don’t know what I can do now. I’m still very confused.”
In high school, Lei Jin was brought by Luo Feng and Ai Tingya to study together and was admitted to a good university.
However, he soon relaxed. Now that he recalled his four years in university, he was muddle-headed and did not have many memories. Other than going to a fixed professional class every day, Lei Jin did not know what he was doing the rest of the time.
In particular, compared to Luo Feng opening a milk tea shop and a delivery company in university, he regretted wasting so much precious time.
This feeling continued until now. Lei Jin’s confidence shrunk and he was at a loss as to what to do.
